Raymax Lasers is known for our commitment to partnering with the most cutting-edge technology available. That’s why our chosen partner for custom optics is LightMachinery. To create the most sophisticated optics capable of applications within the space or military fields, one of the key parameters is achieving remarkable flatness. LightMachinery holds the patent for fluid jet polishing (FJP), and therefore are able to create truly unique optics.
While many optics are still created using traditional methods, there are some applications that require an even flatter surface. FJP is a computer-controlled process that can achieve flatness in the nanometer region—better than lambda/100 peak-to-valley (PV). The fewer deviations in your optics, the higher the performance. With this level of spectral resolution, the optics created are suitable to anyone in research, space or military who need these capabilities. It’s at the forefront of optical device manufacturing.
Most of the optics created by LightMachinery are custom made. However, they also have an impressive list of catalogue optics available, including many different types of etalons and VIPAs. Read how VIPAs are used in their spectrometer range for accurate measurement of light. Types of etalon include air-spaced, fused silica, germanium, silicon, tunable, YAG.
If you’ve got an R&D prototype or specialist application you need customised optics for, you’re in the right place. If you have a tight tolerance requirement, the FJP technology from LightMachinery can help you meet it. Arbitrary shapes can also be created on surfaces, which isn’t possible with conventional polishing technologies.
With Raymax and LightMachinery, even the most complex requirements can be achieved. LightMachinery has a long history of creating envelope-pushing optics.
We make laser light work for you. We’ve spent over 30 years demonstrating what’s possible with lasers. In doing so, we’ve helped modernise Australian and New Zealand industries. You’ll be working with a team of physicists and factory-trained engineers—leaders in the supply of laser solutions and photonics equipment. We’re experts in material interaction research. Wherever possible, you’ll be introduced to new technology that can improve operation in ways you might not have imagined possible.
