Based in The Netherlands, known for its fresh produce and flowers, PerfoTec offers an ingenious laser solution for extending shelf-life. By creating custom perforation in every pack, the Laser Perforation System achieves an optimal modified atmosphere. This extends the shelf-life of the fresh produce inside.
Extending shelf-life with Perfotec benefits retailers as it reduces costs and waste and increases quality. And it offers producers opportunities to increase supply options and reach a wider market.
The system integrates with horizontal and vertical packing machines and tray sealers. It creates holes as small as 55–60 microns, and yet it’s rugged enough to withstand tough packing conditions.
PerfoTec’s system controls the permeability of produce packing to extend the quality and shelf-life of the produce. It does this by making consistent and accurate holes in the packaging with lasers. A closed-loop-feedback camera inspects every hole for a consistent result. This makes sure the Oxygen Transmission Rate is correct for every pack, keeping food fresh.
Respond to seasonal variations by measuring the respiration rate of your fresh produce. Within 4 hours, you’ll know oxygen consumption and how much carbon dioxide and ethylene is being produced. You then have the data required to set the optimal transmission rate and perforations specifications for your packaging.
Produce liner bags with optimal perforations at source so you can pack and extend the shelf life of your produce. The DLS incorporates the Laser Perforation System together with its closed-loop-feedback system that inspects every hole. You can store 200 programs in its software system.
PerfoTec doesn’t just manufacture the systems for creating perforation but also materials suited to packaging fresh produce. PerfoTec C+ Film and PerfoTec LinerBags are made from a biobased material, and the MAP Shuttle trays are a reusable, nestable, and stackable way to transport your produce.
We make laser light work for you. We’ve spent over 30 years demonstrating what’s possible with lasers. In doing so, we’ve helped modernise Australian and New Zealand industries. You’ll be working with a team of physicists and factory-trained engineers—leaders in the supply of laser solutions and photonics equipment. We’re experts in material interaction research. Wherever possible, you’ll be introduced to new technology that can improve operation in ways you might not have imagined possible.
