The FOBA V.0042-uv ultraviolet laser not only creates surface marks on plastics which are permanent and easily readable but avoids damaging the substrate in doing so. The photochemical interaction between the plastic and ultraviolet (UV) light produces so-called “cold marks” – changing the colour of the surface while preserving the underlying structure, meaning no melt marks, no deformation and no material weakening. Ultraviolet cold marks are also durable, resistant to damage and can even withstand processes such as autoclaving and chemical cleaning.
