Amplitude has revealed four new laser systems at SPIE Photonics West: the FOCUS 5, the FOCUS 920, the AXIS and the TITAN Century.
The FOCUS 5 is a femtosecond laser able to generate pulses with energy up to 25 μJ at a wavelength of 1030 nm, making it well-suited for waveguide and photonic chip fabrication, semiconductor metrology and wafer scribing as well as applications in medical imaging, histopathology, electron microscopy sample preparation, and ophthalmology.
Similarly, the FOCUS 920 is also a femtosecond laser, operating at 920 nm. It is purpose-built for multiphoton microscopy and neuroscience, and delivers ultrashort pulses (less than 100 femtoseconds!) making it ideal for multiphoton absorption processes such as multiphoton fluorescence, SHG, and THG imaging.
The TITAN Century is a high-energy Q-switched nanosecond laser, providing pulse energies of up to 1.3 J at 100 Hz. It offers a smooth, homogeneous beam profile with excellent energy stability, making it especially suitable for applications where beam uniformity and energy consistency directly impact downstream performance such as laser shock peening and high-energy physics.
The AXIS offers up to 120 W of power with both beam stability and precise process control, both critically important for industrial micromachining, where consistency and reproducibility are key. With applications in ceramic micro-drilling, OLED cutting and metal large area texturing and x-ray imaging, the AXIS represents the next step forward from the Satsuma X.
