When marking with lasers, precision, repeatability and reliability are key concerns. FOBA produces two laser vision systems which look “through” the lens at the target: Point & Shoot and IMP (Intelligent Mark Positioning).
The Point & Shoot camera system views the marking field, captures an image of the component and displays it in the user interface. Users can then design and position the mark exactly at the intended location, with a user-friendly drag and drop interface.
IMP allows automation of marking processes – it automatically detects work piece positions and aligns the etching accordingly. It consistently provides premium-quality markings and produces a measurable reduction in the number of defective products. IMP also offers pre-mark and post-mark verification. Pre-mark verification ensures that users don’t accidentally mark already-marked products, while post-mark verification validates that placement is accurate. This feature also helps check for poor contrast marks that can be caused by an early degradation of the laser performance or a change in material characteristics.
